Frequent collaborators Joseph Shabason and Nicholas Krgovich have announced that they'll reunite for their fourth album together. This time, the pair — from Toronto and Vancouver, respectively — have tapped Colorado musician M. Sage to join them on Shabason, Krgovich, Sage. The project is due out on April 5 via Idée Fixe Records

Having first come together on Polaris Prize nominee Philadelphia (2020) and Florence (2021) with Vancouver's Chris Harris, Shabason and Krgovich most recently duetted on At Scaramouche in late 2022. For his part, Sage is fresh on the heels of dropping a pair of ambient electronic projects Paradise Crick and Parayellowgram in 2023.

According to Sage, he met Shabason and Krgovich online in 2020. Their conversations led to recording sessions in his converted barn studio in Colorado, which eventually formed the album.

"After connecting with Nick and Jos through DMs since 2020, it felt like a fun experience awaited us as potential collaborators," Sage recalled in a press release. "I had built my barn studio, and I think it looked appealing to them to make an adventure out of coming to the Wild West to make music with me."

Now, the newly formed trio are previewing their new era with the lead single from Shabason, Krgovich, Sage. Get a taste of the upcoming project with "Gloria" below.
