If you've been on the hunt for a $75 bottle of alt-rock olive oil (and you live in the UK), you're in luck — Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood has announced the launch of Greenwood Oil, the guitarist's new brand of EVOO made with olives harvested on Greenwood's farm in Italy's Le Marche region.
Each bottle is individually signed by Greenwood and features artwork by longtime Radiohead collaborator Stanley Donwood. According to the description on Radiohead's W.A.S.T.E. store, the oil may contain surface imperfections as it's a locally-sourced "artisan product." As of right now, Greenwood Oil is only available to ship in the UK.
In a tweet about his new venture, Greenwood poked a bit of fun at himself, describing his olive oil journey as something that "rock stars of a certain age seem to drift into." ("It's Sting we're all thinking of," he added in fine print.) However, he also wrote that he's "really proud of the final product"; "It's an addictive thing though, harvesting and pressing this glorious fruit, and spending more and more time with Italian friends in this beautiful country," Greenwood continued.
In non-food-related Greenwood news, he recently announced an album with the Israeli musician Dudu Tassa.
