If there's one constant in this world, it's that Joni Mitchell is cool. And though we have all the proof we could ever need, she gave us some more tonight (January 28) — Mitchell has announced that she'll be removing her music from Spotify in solidarity with Neil Young and in opposition of Joe Rogan's COVID misinformation campaign.

Mitchell announced her decision with a brief message on her official website, writing simply, "I've decided to remove all my music from Spotify. Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives. I stand in solidarity with Neil Young and the global scientific and medical communities on this issue."

She also republished an open letter to Spotify from 270 doctors, scientists, professors, and healthcare professionals that calls on the streaming giant to implement a more diligent misinformation policy. The letter was originally issued after Rogan's December 31 episode featuring Dr. Robert Malone, who has repeatedly spread falsities about the vaccines.

Young called on Spotify to remove his music earlier in the week, citing Spotify's role in "spreading fake information about vaccines" by hosting Joe Rogan's podcast. Spotify followed through on Wednesday, removing all of Young's music from their platform.
