There have been plenty of films released about the Beatles over the years, but writers have discovered an untapped subject matter about the band. Specifically, the relationship between John Lennon and his second wife Yoko Ono.
As The Hollywood Reporter explains, producer Michael De Luca (Moneyball, The Social Network) is working directly with Ono on bringing the couple's story to life.
The script is being written by The Theory of Everything writer Anthony McCarten and will explore the couple's relationship along with their anti-war efforts.
"The story will focus on ripe and relevant themes of love, courage and activism in the U.S. — with the intention of inspiring today's youth to stand up for and have a clear vision for the world they want," De Luca said in a statement. "I am also honoured and privileged to be working with Yoko Ono, Anthony McCarten and Josh Bratman to tell the story of two amazing global icons."
As of yet, it's unclear who will play the leads in the film. We've gotta say, Rae Sremmurd's Swae Lee sure looks good in John Lennon sunglasses.
