As promised, Czars frontman turned solo artist John Grant is set to follow his 2013 effort Pale Green Ghosts with a brand new record called Grey Tickles, Black Pressure. The album arrives on October 9 via Bella Union, but we've arranged a Canadian stream of the album before its official street date.
The album was recorded in Dallas with John Congleton (St. Vincent, Swans) and features the same creative arrangements, existential lyrics and timeless songwriting that Grant's fans have grown accustomed to.
In a press release, Grant explained that the album title refers to an Icelandic phrase (which makes sense since he's currently based in Iceland). "'Grey tickles' is the literal translation from Icelandic for 'mid-life crisis', while 'black pressure' is the direct translation from Turkish for 'nightmare,'" he said in a statement.
