2004 was a particularly fruitful year for the Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist

After detailing a new solo album to open December, John Frusciante has now taken time this month to bring some of his older catalogue favourites back to vinyl for the first time years.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist has unveiled new vinyl pressings of 2004 albums The Will to DeathInside of Emptiness, and A Sphere In the Heart of Silence — the last of which is a collaborative effort with former Chili Pepper Josh Klinghoffer.

Both The Will to Death and Inside of Emptiness were last re-pressed in 2012 via Record Collection, and have been hard to come by in the time since. Those vinyl editions have been known to reach three-figure price points on resale sites such as Discogs.

Klinghoffer's playing also appears on both those LPs, while Frusciante's friend Omar Rodriguez-Lopez also contributed to Inside of Emptiness.

Additionally, Frusciante's online store points to the availability of 2005's Curtains and 2009's The Empyrean on vinyl. Both albums were last re-pressed in 2019.

The artist's most recent solo releases include breakbeat burner Maya, and Look Down, See Us and She Smiles Because She Presses the Button as Trickfinger — all of which arrived in 2020.

Frusciante's latest vinyl represses are now available for pre-order.

As previously reported, Frusciante's new solo LP comes in two versions — respectively titled . I : and : I I . — and is out February 3 via Acid Test Records.
