Jimmy Page and Chris Cornell Plotting Collaboration?
Published Nov 14, 2014Jimmy Page has apparently been eager to reunite Led Zeppelin, but with Robert Plant not interested in revisiting the past, it seems that Page may be linking up with a different rock howler instead: Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell.
This rumour was sparked on Wednesday (November 12), when the two musicians met up for the event "An Evening with Jimmy Page in Conversation with Chris Cornell" in Los Angeles. This live interview took place to celebrate the re-release of Page's photographic autobiography, Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page.
According to a series of tweets by a fan in attendance (who was queried by Alternative Nation), an attendee at the event shouted out that they should sing a song together. Page apparently responded, "This is what I am doing in 2015," and he and Cornell hugged. Page also reportedly said that their plans were secret, and he would be touring next year.
Of course, this off-hand comment is far from official confirmation, and it's impossible to say whether this will actually come to pass. But at the very lest, this ought to give rock fans something to get excited about.
Meanwhile, Soundgarden will release the rarities compilation Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path on November 24, while Led Zeppelin just reissued their albums Led Zeppelin IV and 1973's Houses of the Holy.
