Jaunt exhibited such sensitivity as songwriters and musicians onstage, their group hug before the show made total sense. The Toronto quintet ooze talent and finesse, emerging from a city that gave the world BADBADNOTGOOD and is currently grappling with its identity as an inclusive, self-aware space.

Jaunt are an open-ended indie rock-infused pop band who are stoically focused in performance, and charmingly positive between songs. With synthesized tones, falsettos and compelling vocals, and strikingly cool arrangements, they're airy and upbeat, digging into nice grooves the way BBNG or — particularly on a new song they debuted tonight — Unknown Mortal Orchestra might. Pretty chill but with a certain earnest passion coursing between them, Jaunt are rad and a band to keep a close eye on.
