Last night (September 10), Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker took audience members on an odd journey at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Hosting the BBC's Wireless Nights Prom, Cocker guided onlookers through an "underwater dream" that featured performances from the Manchester Chamber Choir and the BBC Philharmonic, conducted by Maxime Tortelier.
The elaborate stage event heard the ensemble of musicians deliver extracts from the likes of Wagner, Debussy and Bach, as well as slightly more modern fare from Echo & the Bunnymen, Tim Buckley and the Beatles. And keeping with the underwater theme, John Williams' Jaws theme was obviously incorporated, as well.
