Jack White Mellows Out in Video for New Acoustic Ballad "Love Is Selfish"

It's from 'Entering Heaven Alive,' the second of his two upcoming albums

Jack White is preparing to release two very different-sounding albums: the "really hard" Fear of the Dawn and the mellow "Sunday morning" collection Entering Heaven Alive. Having released "Taking Me Back" from the former, he's now shared "Love Is Selfish" from the latter.

"Love Is Selfish" is a finger-picked acoustic ballad that very much fulfills White's promise of mellow tunes. Longtime fans might spot a passing similarity to his Cold Mountain standout "Never Far Away."

In the video that accompanies the song, a blue-haired White performs the song and drinks a beer in an empty legion. It was self-directed by White.

This is the second song White has released from Entering Heaven Alive: the acoustic version of "Taking Me Back" that previously appeared as a B-side will be included as well.

Fear of the Dawn is out on April 8, followed by Entering Heaven Alive on July 22.
