Jack-O & the Tennessee Tearjerkers

The Disco Outlaw

Jack-O (aka Jack Yarber) adds another collection of muscular songs to his strong catalogue of material with The Disco Outlaw. As a founding member of both the Oblivians and Compulsive Gamblers, Yarber has established a wide range of high quality rock'n'roll, and the varied nature of his work continues here. While an upcoming Oblivians reunion tour has had garage fans buzzing for months, Yarber proves that he's also intent on looking to the future, along with acknowledging his past. The record shows Yarber and crew traversing through lo-fi boogie-woogie, strutting bar rock and soulful ballads, amongst other styles. From the ZZ Top-like blues of "Against the Wall" to the upbeat pop of "Make Your Mind Up" and the punk stomp of "Stop Stalling," Jack-O & the Tennessee Tearjerkers pull off a variety of styles with impeccable musicianship.
