Ibeyi have teamed up with Pa Salieu on a new single. The sister duo have joined forces with the Gambian-British upstart on "Made of Gold," which you can watch a video for below.

"Made of Gold" was the first song to emerge from early 2021 studio sessions for Ibeyi's third studio album. As the duo's Lisa-Kaindé Diaz shares in a statement, the follow-up to 2017's Ash will see them reconnect to ancestral power and channel it in their next set of songs.

"Whilst we were creating the layers of the backing vocals, we could feel that we were making contact with our ancestors; that what we were recording was calling on the brujas and our ancestors for their ancient knowledge," she shares. '"Made of Gold' is about connecting to our ancestors' knowledge, to the truths of the past and the power of the ancient. The line is not broken, nor is it lost."

The Daniel Sannwald-directed visual stars Lisa-Kaindé as the queen of water, and Naomi Diaz as the queen of thunder — references to their respective Yoruba deities, Yemaya and Shango. Pa Salieu then emerges from the sky, settling in amongst sun and moon before declaring, "we are the reincarnation."

Exclaim! previously named Ash one of the Top 10 Soul and R&B Albums of 2017. Last year, Ibeyi shared single "Recurring Dream."

Pa Salieu made his debut last year with mixtape Send Them to Coventry, which he followed with this year's Afrikan Rebel EP.
