It's been five years since we last heard from softly rocking though bitingly political DC outfit the Evens, but the two-piece are ready to get back into action this fall via the release of a new two-song single.
A press release from baritone guitarist/vocalist Ian MacKaye's iconic Dischord imprint confirms that he and drummer/vocalist Amy Farina have prepped a bite-sized follow-up to their Exclaim!-approved sophomore set, Get Evens. The vinyl single, which comes out November 24, will contain new tunes "Warble Factor" and "Timothy Wright."
Both tracks were recorded at the fabled Inner Ear Studio in Washington DC, where many Dischord outfits, including MacKaye's interminably on-hiatus other band Fugazi, laid tracks to tape. That's the single's cover above.
Evens also recently released a remastered version of their 2005 self-titled debut as part of the label's ongoing series of vinyl reissues. Get Evens will get the same treatment sometime in the future.
In other Fugazi-related news, as previously reported, bassist Joe Lally is set to tour North America this fall in support of his recent solo LP, Why Should I Get Used To It. You can check those dates, including stops in Toronto and Montreal, here.
