The Halifax Urban Folk Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and to get things rolling, organizers have announced the 2019 lineup.
Taking place in Halifax from August 25 to September 1, HUFF will feature a long list of notable acts. Among them this year are headliners Matthew Sweet, Damhnait Doyle and Alejandro Escovedo.
As is HUFF tradition, each of those artists will perform at the Carleton with a specially curated backing band of local musicians called the Halifax All-Stars. They will also participate in HUFF's noteworthy Songwriters Circles throughout the festival.
Participating in those Songwriters Circles will also be the likes of Wintersleep's Paul Murphy, Catherine MacLellan and Christina Martin.
As part of HUFF's Carleton lineup, there will be the Gordie Sampson Songcamp 10th Anniversary show, which will feature the likes of Mo Kenney, Carleton Stone (Port Cities), Kaleigh O'Connor, Dave Sampson, Jodi Guthro, Willie Stratton, Dylan Guthro (Port Cities), Maura Whitman and Cameron Nickerson.
There will also be performances from the Burning Hell, Museum Pieces, Gianna Lauren, Ian Janes, Chris Kirby, the Novaks (acoustic), Cameron and Cory Tetford, among others.
HUFF tickets go on sale Friday (June 14) at 10 a.m. local time. You can learn more about ticketing, as well as the festival, over at the HUFF website.
