Following the passing of Mazzy Star co-founder David Roback last week, his longtime bandmate Hope Sandoval has penned a touching tribute to the fallen musician.

Sandoval took to Mazzy Star's Facebook this week, writing, "It's been a few days since I lost my dear friend and I am devastated… Thank you all for the love."

She accompanied the message with a poem written for Roback, and you can find her full post below.

Roback — who was best known best as a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter and co-founder of Mazzy Star — died last week at the age of 61 following a battle with cancer. In addition to Mazzy Star, he was a member of revered psych-pop group Rain Parade, as well as Opal.

He co-wrote all of Mazzy Star's material alongside Sandoval and produced all four of their studio albums, including their last release, the 2018 EP Still. The band's drummer Keith Mitchell passed away in 2017.
