Holy Moses

Strength, Power, Will, Passion

In one of the most unbelievably self absorbed releases ever printed, Holy Moses front-woman Sabina Classen poses out for a series of pictures clearly aimed at establishing herself as a prepubescent boy’s metal chick pinup. Though not scantily clad, one wonders what necessitates three pages of headshots and three pages of band pictures in a mere 12 pages of liner notes. It’s almost as if the lyrics are only there to prove Classen doesn’t exclusively spend her time posing for the camera; just most of it. If that’s not ridiculous enough, the final two pages of the liner notes is a self-aggrandising dedication to herself and all the hard work she’s put in through the years. Though her staying power is impressive and her contribution as a female metal pioneer isn’t to be underestimated it’s hard to take anyone seriously when they’re apparently aiming to become the German thrash equivalent of any standard Hollywood tart. The boring and unimaginative thrash harkens back to Classen’s early days as the "Princess of Hell” but don’t really accomplish much other than compliment the ridiculous number of photos. In all seriousness, Mötley Crüe weren’t even this vain.
