Stella Ella Ola Unveil Debut Album, Premiere New Video

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 18, 2014

For the last couple of years, Hollerado members Nixon and Jake Boyd have also been playing in a Toronto four-piece called Stella Ella Ola. Now, that group are readying their debut full-length. I Think We Should Hang Out All the Time is due out on August 5 through Hollerado's Royal Mountain Records label.

The album was recorded and mixed by Nyles Miszczyk. A press release compares the resulting 10 tracks to the B-52s and the Go-Go's, describing the album as "a quirky, riffy trip to the beach."

That's the album cover above and the tracklist below. Keep scrolling down to check out the premiere of the video for closing cut "Peter Sellers." The song is a giddy, harmony-filled pop-rock number, while the video depicts a day on the beach made possible by a magical cardboard photo booth. It was directed by the band's own singer, Anne Douris.

Stella Ella Ola will perform at the Silver Dollar in Toronto for NXNE tonight (June 18). They have a few more festival dates this summer, and a proper tour (including a trip to Europe) will follow in the fall.
