Patty Schemel was the drummer in Hole during the band's grunge-era glory days, and she detailed her stint with the band in the 2011 documentary Hit So Hard. Now, she's announced plans to put out an accompanying memoir by the same name.
Hit So Hard will arrive on bookshelves October 31 via Da Capo Press.
In the book, Schemel addresses her past with drumming, drinking and drug addiction, as well as her interactions with scene stars like her bandmate Courtney Love and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain — who Schemel lived with as roommates for a while.
She also details her post-band life of homelessness in Los Angeles and, eventually, her path to sobriety.
Hit So Hard is currently available for pre-order here.
