We all know that Courtney Love is a loose canon -- just read her rambling interview with Exclaim! from last year for proof. Soon, we will be gaining new insight into just how wild she is, as former Hole drummer Patty Schemel is preparing to release a new documentary about the band.
Schemel was a member of Hole during the band's '90s heyday, and she played on the hit album Live Through This. During her stint with the group, from 1992 to 1998, the drummer shot 40 hours of video. This archival footage was edited together by director P. David Ebersole to make the documentary Hit So Hard: The Life and Near-Death Story of Patty Schemel.
Ebersole and producers Todd Hughes and Christina Soletti founded a Kickstarter campaign to fund the release of the movie. It features recent interviews with band members, including a very strung-out-looking Love, plus some rare footage of Kurt Cobain.
The campaign aimed to raise $15,000, but as of press time, the filmmakers have already surpassed that goal, so it looks as if this movie is going to happen. However, the filmmakers have set a new goal of $25,000.
