Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Haviah Mighty, Pierre Kwenders, Metric

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Apr 29, 2022

T.S. Eliot famously called April "the cruelest month," and though he wasn't wrong, it has kindly gifted us some great new Canadian music.

As we prepare to enter into May, Tegan and Sara are just like us: they're "Fucking Up What Matters." This week saw the return of Milk & Bone and Metric, Haviah Mighty joining forces with Shad and the debut of Pink Blob. There was also another atmospheric ballad from Noah Reid and another preview of Arcade Fire's WE.

It was another stacked lineup for album releases, with new records from Pierre Kwenders (José Louis and the Paradox of Love), Frontperson (Parade), Mitch Davis (The Haunt), Corb Lund (Songs My Friends Wrote), Julie & Dany, Joyful Joyful, Dana Gavanski and Lydia Persaud.

If these can't ease the burden of the remainder of April, we're not sure what will. Get ready for May's darling buds with the blossoming new tracks on The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
