Earlier this month, we learned that Radiohead and Hans Zimmer had collaborated on a rework of "Bloom" for BBC nature series Blue Planet II. Well, the new version of the track premiered earlier today (September 27), and you can stream it now.
As previously reported, the new take on the song — dubbed "(ocean) bloom" — hears Zimmer conducting the BBC Concert Orchestra and features new vocals by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke. The song originally appeared on Radiohead's 2011 album The King of Limbs.
When the collaboration was first announced, Yorke said, "'Bloom' was inspired by the original Blue Planet series so it's great to be able to come full circle with the song and reimagine it for this incredible landmark's sequel."
"(ocean) bloom" aired today during a five-minute prequel to Blue Planet II, and you can listen to it here at the 51:00 mark. The actual series is set for release later this year.
