The release of reunited hardcore outfit Head Wound City's A New Wave of Violence may be just a month away, but if you're looking for a quick fix of heaviness, the band have you covered for Record Store Day. They're issuing a limited-edition cassette single featuring a cover of Ministry's "Just One Fix," which also happens to be streaming now.
In comparison to the industrial metal unit's original, off of 1992's ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ (a.k.a. Psalm 69), Head Wound City crank up the adrenaline and thrust the menacing riffs into overdrive. The cover is a bit truncated, though, playing without that "South of Heaven"-leaning lead guitar lick that closes out the Ministry version. Lead vocalist Jordan Blilie's fierce screaming also hits in a much higher register than Al Jourgensen's junk-wasted howl.
You can stream Head Wound City's "Just One Fix" below, or pick it up on a cassette single tomorrow (April 16) that will also feature A New Wave of Violence's "Scraper." The band's album, meanwhile, hits stores May 13 through Vice.
As previously reported, the quintet will hit up Canada this May on a tour with Savages.
