After sharing new single "Battlefords" this past October, Hawksley Workman has lifted the curtain on a new full-length album.
Titled Median Age Wasteland, Workman's latest will arrive March 1. Eleven tracks in length, the album was produced by Dears frontman Murray Lightburn.
Workman wrote and recorded Median Age Wasteland after making a move to Montreal from rural Ontario. The body of work is said to have "no lipstick, literal or figurative – just the purity of loving, loathing, and living."
"I've always had this constant hunger to innovate, reevaluate what I do, and keep remaking it to confuse myself and maybe confuse my audience," Workman said in a statement. "This time, I'm just committing to writing focused and honest songs, which feels like the most interesting thing I can do right now."
A second single, titled "Lazy," is set for release on January 11. In the meantime, you can revisit the video for "Battlefords" below, where you'll also find Workman's upcoming tour dates.
"This album is beautifully sentimental," Workman added. "I have a unique perspective on the world that comes from the person I think I am and the person I actually am, and I wanted to explore the latter. There's a lot of looking back at being a kid and more innocent times."
