So this is how they do sweeping post-rock in Ireland. Halves riveted the intimate venue hosting a night full of their talented countrymen. Their song forms and use of cello, violin, multiple keyboards, bass, drum loops and live drumming hinted at a debt to Sigur Rós, múm and Explosions in the Sky, which they gladly paid in passion. The vocals were clean and clear when not occasionally routed through a vocoder, and the spectacle of all band members being multi-instrumentalists and swapping or doubling up throughout the show as each song required was quite extraordinary.
