New Jersey-born pop star Halsey has announced the release date of her forthcoming fourth LP If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, which arrives August 27 via Capitol Records. The artist born Ashley Frangipane also shared the cover artwork, revealed with a video shot at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art wherein she uncovers it as a life-sized painting.
As previously reported, the album is being produced by Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. It will be the follow-up to Halsey's 2020 release, Manic, which included a Justin Timberlake-interpolating collaboration with the late Juice WRLD.
So far, we know relatively few details about If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power ahead of its release next month. "This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth," the artist wrote in a statement on Instagram.
Of the artwork, she added: "This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful; to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies and breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!"
