Half Moon Run

'Dark Eyes' (album stream)

As previously reported, Montreal-based folk trio Half Moon Run are gearing up for the release of their debut disc, Dark Eyes. While you could wait for the album to hit online and brick and mortar retailers tomorrow (March 27) to pick up the disc, which comes out through Indica/Outside, Exclaim! and the band will do you a solid and let you listen to the whole thing gratis.

Last week, the troupe unveiled the downtempo, spacey strummer "Full Circle," but the opening cut shows only a fraction of what the act is capable of. Other notable numbers include the jumped-up "Call Me in the Afternoon," which is driven by a steadily pounded yet clearly brushed drumbeat, and the slightly symphonic, string-laden "Give Up." You can check it all out at the bottom of the page.

As previously reported, Half Moon Run have a couple Quebec-area shows this week, at Montreal's Sala Rossa on April 2 and at Le Cercle in Quebec City on April 5.
