First off, no, Hacienda do not come from Manchester, nor do they have any apparent connection to Factory Records or the iconic nightclub they share a name with. Rather, they're a pop rock band from Texas who are poised to release the album Shakedown on June 19 through Dine Alone Records/Collective Sounds. Before then, though, you can listen to the entire thing at Exclaim.ca.
Shakedown was produced by Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach, who also helmed the group's past two LPs. The Auerbach connection doesn't end there: Hacienda toured as Auerbach's backing band, the Fast Five, when the singer went solo in 2009.
Auerbach said in a statement, "I've been a fan of Hacienda ever since the day they gave me their first demo. They have consistently impressed with their natural chemistry as a band."
Despite the band's obvious affinity with Auerbach, the grooving pop sound of the single "Savage" makes it immediately clear that Hacienda have their own thing going on. See what we mean by listening to the whole album below.
