After nearly nodding off during a succession of dull indie rock acts, I got a welcome second wind from Gregg Gillis, aka Girl Talk, mash-up artist to the extreme. The room erupted with glee as roughly 30 people invaded the stage to indulge in his ADD-fuelled flurry of old and new school hip-hop, indie, grunge, disco and dance music, with roughly six songs folded into each number. As the crowd went wild, with practically all the boys losing their shirts (including Gillis), the set stretched way past its allotted 45 minutes. And it was good.
