Swedish ghoul crew Ghost are teasing their forthcoming Meliora LP with a song dedicated to misfits and outcasts of all sorts. If you've fallen from grace, whether from your peer group or the Pearly Gates, their "From the Pinnacle to the Pit" goes out to you.
Despite a few sinister sections, the track is plenty melodic, with the guitar-playing portion of the group of Nameless Ghouls delivering NWOBHM-leaning triplets and optimistic power chords. The latter helps, as Papa Emeritus III is spending his time smoothing things over for anyone "cast out from the heavens to the ground."
Don't abandon all hope just yet, as Ghost's new album lands August 21 via Spinefarm/Loma Vista Recordings.
