Like jazz-influenced disco house? Then this disc is for you, because that’s the only style of music on it. That said, it’s good jazzy disco house selected by Gene Farris, who has been making house music from Chicago for many years. Almost all the tracks on this disc come from his Farris Wheel label. Many of the tracks feature strong female vocals. Also present are many funky bass lines. The mix is fast-paced and definitely danceable. This is certainly not limp jazzy lounge music. There aren’t any fancy mixing tricks, but the tracks have a good flow to them, and the mix gets a little faster and thumpier as it progresses.
