Gallows

"Last June"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 26, 2012

Coming off the announcement yesterday (June 25) that Gallows' new album comes out September 11 through Bridge 9/Venn, the band have now delivered the first single from the platter, "Last June". They've also just announced the album will be self-titled.

The track dials down the speed just slightly from their recent punky cover of Minor Threat's "Seeing Red," but the intensity is kept intact. The song is furiously filled with heavy-handed drum wallops, walls of distortion and off-kilter guitar solos. Wade MacNeil's caustic cries, meanwhile, deliver a disturbing scenario of smoke-filled streets and burning cop cars, seemingly alluding to last year's G20 protests in Toronto.
