The Futureheads Line Up North American Tour in Support of The Chaos

British post-punk revivalists the Futureheads haven't graced our playlists with any new material since 2008's This Is Not the World. Yet back in September, the band were already telling the press that they'd finished their fourth album, calling it "complicated" and emphasizing how much time and effort had gone into the songs. Well, all the album details made their while online a little while back, and now we've got word of a supporting North American tour.

Called The Chaos, the album will apparently focus on the band's punk tendencies, with the press release saying, "If punk was all about DIY ethics, anti-authoritarian ideologies, and working with whatever is available and to hand, then the Futureheads are a punk band... Combining the band's trademark four-part harmonies with a harder-edged punk delivery, the Futureheads spit out assured melodies, with the wisdom of a band that have noticeably hardened since their inception in 2003."

The Chaos will be released on April 26 in the UK via the band's own Nul Records and on June 1 in North America via Dovecote. Two songs from the album, "Struck Dumb" and "Heartbeat Song," can be streamed on the Futureheads' MySpace here.

As far as that North American tour goes, the band have announced a string of summer tour dates, which will include a Canadian show in Toronto on June 10.
