Much like its title, Fucking Invincible's latest release, I Hate Myself and Want You To Die, wastes no time getting to the point. Cramming eight brutally satisfying power-violence bursts into an EP that clocks in at less than ten minutes, the band rarely stop to catch their breath as they barrel through the set.

The energy on this EP is consistent throughout, but Fucking Invincible have taken great care with the pacing within each song. "Under The Sun" and "Ditched" are the two most furious tracks on the record, employing blast beats and grind-like moments, but the former drops into a more deliberate hardcore swing at the very end, changing it up enough to remain memorable, yet retaining all of the built-up aggression.

"Feeder" crescendos throughout the entire song, building up feedback over the slow trudge of floor toms and a gurgling, rumbling bass line that picks up at the very end, and album closer "Get It Wrong" is a punchy and similarly varied conclusion to the set. With this EP, Fucking Invincible have put together a well-rounded and succinct set of songs that showcases their unrelenting energy and ability to express that with enough sonic variation to hold the listener's attention throughout.
