Self-described "Canadian bastardized grindcore" troupe Fuck The Facts released their first independently produced LP, Desire Will Rot, last summer, so when they swung through Toronto last month, we invited the Ottawa band's vocalist Melanie Mongeon and guitarist Topon Das, to stop by Exclaim! TV's Aggressive Tendencies to discuss the landmark album.
In our interview, Mongeon asserts that the album was entirely DIY — from the artwork to the production — and that they experienced a huge amount of support from fans throughout the oft-gruelling process. Their hard work is paying off, though: the record received a Juno nomination for Heavy Metal Album of the Year.
While Fuck The Facts have a hefty European tour filling the next few months, the pair emphasize the importance of home and express their continued gratitude for the appreciation they receive from their Canadian fanbase. Watch the interview in full below.
