This group of boisterous, likely former or current drama students is developing into one of the most likeable and invigorating party bands in Toronto. Their exuberant indie rock vanilla funk is instantly memorable and catchier than mono. Dressed in a cartoon-ish king’s costume, lead singer Neil Rankin, a live wire of charm, emotes like Interpol’s Paul Banks trying to channel David Bowie in the aftermath of a cotton candy overdose. The band seem to have such a great time playing and their energy is so infectious, you’d have to have a heart of stone to not get swept up in the festivities. It’s a big musical group hug.
