Amid a pair of tribute concerts honouring late drummer Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters have announced a new album of their most "essential songs" — including "My Hero," "Best of You," "Learn to Fly" and, of ever-course, "Everlong."
A physical-only release, The Essential Foo Fighters arrives on vinyl and CD on October 28 via Legacy Recordings. It follows the band's 2009 Greatest Hits collection, and their most recent LP of new material, 2021's Medicine at Midnight. Further, it marks the first major release from the Foos following Hawkins' death at age 50 earlier this year.
The next star-studded tribute concert to pay homage to the beloved musician is set to take place on September 27 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA.
