Fleshrot

Traumatic Reconfiguration

BY Denise FalzonPublished Jul 5, 2010

London, England brutal death metal band Fleshrot have unleashed their debut album on Deepsend Records, Traumatic Reconfiguration, the follow-up to their previous releases, Gore-a-Holic and Decomposition of Humanity. The band mix the traditional old school death metal style of Devourment and Aborted with modern brutality and technicality, resulting in a sound that's disjointed, at times, yet refreshingly unconventional. While they haven't recreated the genre by any means, the result of their sewage metal mishmash is pretty damn good. Fleshrot are also all over the place, in terms of theme, covering a wide range of subjects, including horror, gore and violence, as well as Cattle Decapitation-esque anti-human sentiments. However, while their approach is a touch incoherent, the UK four-piece have a unique presence and display well-executed technical ability. Fast and intense throughout its nine tracks, Traumatic Reconfiguration is a blood-soaked and disgustingly perverse release.
