Fennesz Returns to Editions Mego for 'Fa 2012' 12-Inch

Following a ten-year leave, Austrian soundscapist Christian Fennesz has returned to the Editions Mego imprint for his next release. The last record the musician delivered for the label was the 2002 Fenn O'Berg full-length The Return of Fenn O'Berg, which followed 2001's classic Endless Summer. Interestingly enough, his first release back will explore material from before that period.

Editions Mego explains that Fennesz will soon release Fa 2012, a 12-inch single that re-envisions "Fa" from his 1997 debut Hotel Paral.lel. According to the label, the LP "was always an exercise in exploring alternate means of hearing club-based music," and his newly tweaked version of the track "carries that concept further."

The wax platter's flip, meanwhile, will feature a remix of the song courtesy of Mark Fell.

Editions Mego added that the single will act as a warm-up for a new Fennesz full-length, which will appear sometime in 2013.
