The Feelies Announce Their First Album in 20 Years

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 19, 2011

Though it's been plugging along for a couple of years now, the Feelies reunion is finally hitting jangle pop fans full force. In 2008, when the reunited band got together to play their first gigs in 16 years, singer Glenn Mercer hinted that the group might record some new material but the Feelies were fairly mum about the project until just recently.

Last November a Facebook update from the act's publicist confirmed that the group had just completed recording tracks at a Hoboken, NJ studio. It turns out that those songs will now make up the Feelies new album Here Before, their first in 20 years.

Set for release April 12 on Bar/None, the new collection marks the outfit's first release of new material since 1991's Time for a Witness. Feelies members Mercer and Bill Million handled production duties, and you can check out the tracklisting below.

If that weren't enough Feelies news for one day, the group also announced a small tour of the eastern United States. Catch them if you can.
