An offhand quip by frontman Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll that the atmosphere inside the Gladstone Ballroom felt a lot like a casino lounge was a surprisingly fitting observation, and appeared to set the tone for the crowd-pleasing bar rock his Falling Androids band laid out from that point on. A pair of soul-touched love pleas with poetic lines about wanting to be inside your TV set the light mood early, while surprise breakdowns of TLC's "Waterfalls" and Ahmad's "Back In The Day" thrown into Wallflowers and "Return of the Mac" covers cracked the ice completely and had the room singing along. A few smooth guitar solos, '90s sax lines, sleek bass licks and prominent backing vocals showed the band wasn't all fun and games, however, and more the few well-lubricated vocal chords were calling out for more at the show's abrupt end.
