Saskatoon-based beatmaker Factor has been delivering a fresh Canadian hip-hop track every month this year as part of Factor Fridays, and as promised, he's dropped another one today (October 24).
For October, we get to hear him team up with 22-year-old Surrey, BC MC Merkules for "Mayhem." The track was recorded in a Victoria hotel room on a recent fall tour and opens with the young rhymer declaring that he's "cutting the cord" with rapping, but as his flow continues it becomes very clear he's not done yet.
As for the hook, the Canuck duo are proudly repping their home and native land with the line, "Proud to be Canadian, I wave my flag." Head over here to check out Factor's picks for the best spots to hang in Saskatoon in Exclaim!'s Hangout Handbook and stay tuned for the last remaining singles in the year-long series.
For now, though, listen to the homegrown talent on "Mayhem" by hitting play below.
