Texas post-rock crescendo enthusiasts Explosions in the Sky have announced plans for their latest score, Big Bend (An Original Soundtrack for Public Television), which serves as the soundtrack for a PBS documentary, Big Bend: The Wild Frontier of Texas.
Today, they've shared "Climbing Bears" from the 20-track record, which is due to arrive on October 1 through Temporary Residence. The Thomas Haden Church-narrated PBS nature doc about the titular national park — which featured the soundtrack — is already out, however.
The soundtrack marks the band's first release since 2016's The Wilderness. Their latest soundtrack was 2014's Manglehorn, for the David Gordon Green-directed film of the same name.
