Evolve Jams, Dances and Educates

FESTIVAL

Before the summer reaches an unwelcome end, Nova Scotia will have one last fling, taking in the sun at one of Canada’s most exquisite music festivals. Evolve (August 27 to 29) celebrates its fifth year in Antigonish with a strong cast of international and Canadian bands (Spearhead, Rheostatics, the Trews, Drums & Tuba) and DJs (Doc Martin, Simply Jeff, Rennie Pilgrem, Bass Nectar). But where the festival finds its niche is in the way it adopts a "green and socially conscious ethic." This means switching to a biodiesel generator, setting up sunflower compost stations to reduce waste, and educating folks with the Awareness Village. Who said learning can’t be fun?
