Linnea Siggelkow of Ontario-based dream-pop project Ellis has detailed plans for a new record, nothing is sacred anymore, which is due for independent release on June 25.

After being denied the chance to tour in support of her debut full-length album — last year's Born Again — because of COVID-19, Siggelkow took comfort in returning to her songwriting. Finding a new sense of control through the province's endless pandemic lockdowns, nothing is sacred anymore was born.

"I have a lot of difficulty feeling grounded at the best of times," the artist explained, "and it had been feeling like the floor was falling out from under me. Making these songs was something I felt like I could have control over — they gave me somewhere to stand."

Along with self-releasing the record, Siggelkow also produced her new EP, working alongside Dizzy's Charlie Spencer and her partner, Brandon Williams of Chastity, who also features on the EP's final track, "Hell."

Today, Ellis shares the EP's second track "Hospital" alongside its own visualizer, which you can find below.

"I guess you could say I'm accident prone," Siggelkow said of the song. "But it's those moments when bad or scary things happen that can be so revealing. You really see who shows up for you, who sticks around through it all."
