Here's a concept that was just waiting to happen. Edmonton's the Provincial Archive are getting ready to hit the road this spring, and the pop-tinged folk outfit will be playing shows across the country in the Provincial Archives of Canada.
The coast-to-coast jaunt will last for more than a month, running from May until June. In addition to playing eight shows in Provincial Archives, the band will be hitting up lots more cities along the way.
Of the unique tour, frontman Craig Schram explained in a statement, "We had the idea last fall, when the Provincial Archives of Alberta asked us to perform in-house. We couldn't help but laugh at the confusion that would ensue from the band playing a venue by the same name."
The band notes the "complexity required to get the archives on board." By the looks of the schedule, they never managed to convince the Provincial Archives of Ontario, Quebec or Prince Edward Island to participate. But the press release says more dates are to be announced soon, so maybe they are still just ironing out the details.
See the schedule below. The band's latest video is posted at the bottom of this page. It acts both as a trailer for the tour and a music video for the new single "Drive."
