Dubmatix Signs With German Label Echo Beach

One of Canada’s leading dub artists, Jesse King (aka Dubmatix), has signed with German dub label Echo Beach. The first result of this signing will be the release of Dubmatix’s Renegade Rocker in Europe, Australia and Japan on January 11, 2009.

Renegade Rocker, King’s third album as Dubmatix, came out in Canada at the end of May 2008. Featuring a star-studded line-up of reggae vocalists, such as former Black Uhuru lead singer Michael Rose, Wayne "Sleng Teng” Smith and Willi "Armagideon Time” Williams, the album received wide acclaim across North America and preceded numerous live dates. However, Dubmatix’s popularity, as with the dub genre itself, is much greater in Europe, where he has headlined several dub festivals.

Echo Beach, named after the Martha and the Muffins song, is one of the leading dub labels in the world, having released more than 60 albums in its history. The new edition of Renegade Rocker will feature two bonus tracks. In addition, Dubmatix has also released two new singles: "War Inna Corner” featuring Jamaican toaster Ranking Joe and "Don’t Pressurize Me” with Canadian singer Prince Blanco.
