Drake Forced to Shell Out $13,000 for Going Overtime at Dallas Show

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 22, 2016

Drake's "Summer Sixteen Tour" kicked off this week, and the 6 God's already hemorrhaging money out of his pockets. Not because of low ticket sales, mind you, but because a late start time in Texas last night (July 21) had Drizzy covering $13,000 USD in overtime fees.

TMZ points out that Drake's performance at Dallas's American Airlines Center was running a bit behind, pushing his set beyond the venue's midnight curfew. The arena is said to employ a hefty overtime fee of $6,500 for every 15 minutes of overtime. With Drizzy having scampered offstage around 12:35 a.m. local time, this means he was charged a whopping $13,000 in late fees.

Apparently this was no big thing to Drake, who told the audience about running behind, and how he was okay with paying the penalty. Drake once posited "better late than never but never late is better," but he was fine with letting it slide last night.

Keeping in mind last night's lateness, it could be noted that Drake's "Summer Sixteen Tour" with Future, dvsn, and Roy Woods continues all the way into the middle of fall. You'll find the details of the tour route down below.
