Unlike their fellow hip-hop crew Wu-Tang Clan who would later grace the same stage missing a few members, Doomtree had all hands on deck for their afternoon Riot Fest appearance, which was both a treat for long-time followers and those who had yet to make the acquaintance of the Minneapolis collective. Dessa, P.O.S, Sims, Cecil Otter and Mike Mictlan needed only a half-hour to have the crowd enraptured by their engaging stage presence as a unit and their own individual skills on the mic.

Drawing primarily from their group records, four members formed a hype squad each time a remaining member took a verse, offering steady support with exclamations and interjections. Recognized for their wordplay, it took a good ear and an even quicker brain to catch the complexity in posse cuts "Final Boss," "Gray Duck" and "Bangarang." Backing the group of emcees was the DJ/producer team of Paper Tiger and Lazerbeak, stationed at the back of the stage queuing up instrumentals and furiously tapping away at trigger pads to lay down hard-hitting drum tracks. A bright moment in their afternoon's work was getting the crowd up and bouncing to P.O.S's punchy solo track "Get Down."
