Virtuosic duo DOMi & JD Beck have lifted the curtain on their debut album. The French keyboardist and American drummer will share NOT TiGHT on July 29 via APESHIT/Blue Note Records.
For the uninitiated, NOT TiGHT could be considered a misnomer, as a watch of the duo's performance clips — including one that was among Exclaim!'s Best Livestreams of 2020 — will show that the two are, in fact, very tight.
Joining DOMi and Beck on the album are Thundercat, Mac DeMarco, Herbie Hancock, APESHIT imprint founder Anderson .Paak, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Kurt Rosenwinkel, the American jazz artist and bandleader who has played with Q-Tip, Brian Blade, Donald Fagen of Steely Dan and more.
New song "WHATUP" will arrive tomorrow alongside album pre-order details. Previously, Thundercat and DeMarco appeared in the .Paak-directed video for first single "SMiLE."
