Hey, remember the first Mr. Bungle album? DFD certainly do and obviously they've never gotten over the fact the Mike Patton's pre-Faith No More avant-metal combo never made another record like it. Like DFD's 2001 disc Anarchists of Good Taste, Committed... takes the carnival-esque musical freak show/porn movie soundtrack inspiration of Bungle's debut and strips away the heavy-duty John Zorn influence. What we're left with is a jazz-tinged thrash orgy that is among some of the most interesting metal has to offer. It's no wonder they've found a fan in the System of a Down boys. Birds of a feather
